For the Europe Day and Europe Week occasion in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Directorate for European Integration presented new digital content on its website dedicated to the use of European Union financial assistance. The presentation took place in Trebinje on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
The subpage Success Stories on the Use of European Union Financial Assistance in Bosnia and Herzegovina features an interactive map with more than 280 territorial cooperation projects across 350 locations, showing where changes are taking place. It also includes stories and photo stories about the projects and the people behind them, as well as infographics clearly presenting the results and impact of these projects.

“The idea for creating this subpage emerged for two reasons. The first is that the use of EU financial assistance is one of the topics our citizens are most interested in, and the second is the outstanding results achieved by our beneficiaries in eight territorial cooperation programmes. Specifically, during the previous financial perspective, our beneficiaries had around BAM 76.5 million at their disposal, while in the current perspective that amount has already exceeded BAM 117 million. We expect this figure to increase significantly by the end of the current cycle, considering that we already have newly approved projects and are expecting additional calls and new partnerships,” said Elvira Habota, Director of the Directorate for European Integration, during the presentation of the subpage.
The stories cover various sectors, with a special focus on the experiences of beneficiaries from Bosnia and Herzegovina who, through project implementation, contributed to visible and concrete changes in their communities. This was also an opportunity to hear their experiences first-hand, while the visit to the Museum of Herzegovina in Trebinje provided an opportunity to see the results of cross-border cooperation projects on site.
