Ten traditional boats were presented today on the Zeta River, thus expanding the range of Nikšić tourist offer, and after the opening ceremony the firs ride was performed with traditional boats.

The revitalization of the old dock and the making of ten Trebinje boats from Zeta, are both part of the European Union funded project, whose goal is to present rich cultural and historical resources from the standpoint that has been forgotten these days or utterly unknown, so the famous Zeta boat will be the part of Niksic touristic offer .

Combining different tourist options, both in Nikšić and in Trebinje, provided an innovative and unique tourist offer. By using the Zeta River as a corridor to drive this boat, the tourists and citizens of Nikšić and the whole region will have the opportunity to “consume” nature, culture and history through rowing and outdoor “wellness”.

Similar activity was also carried out in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where along with the revitalization of the old dock, which used to be a place for tying these boats, and the part of the city walls, respective street lights have been installed in this location as well as “the smart bench”.

The Project “Life on BiH/MNE Border – Ancient Traces of ageless Heritage and Tradition” is funded by the European Union with more than 330.000 EUR, within its programme of cross-border cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, and implemented by Public Institution “Cultural Centre” Trebinje, City of Trebinje, Association of Citizens “Centre for development of Herzegovina”, Association of Citizens “Home” Trebinje, PI “Centre for Culture” Plužine, NGO ”Women Action” Nikšić and “Association of Book Publishers and Booksellers in Montenegro”.
