The museums and cultural sites of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro will soon become more accessible, innovative and connected thanks to the new digital solution. With the support of the European Union, the project “One region, one story, one ticket” brings modernization through artificial intelligence, online presentation and electronic entry systems that allow you to visit more locations with one click.
The project that will digitally transform museums and cultural-historical locations in the next two years was presented in Jablanica, at the conference held from 8th to 10th of April, 2025. The event gathered museum experts, representatives of tourism organizations and agencies, as well as key decision-makers, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and setting concrete steps towards implementing digital solutions in tourism.
“This project represents a great opportunity to connect Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro through culture and tourism. Thanks to the activities of our partners, 18 museums will benefit from improved digital services, offering a new tourism product that will attract visitors and promote cultural heritage. The EU is proud to support these initiatives, which will improve the local economy and strengthen cross-border links for the future,” said Mojca Krisper Figueroa, Team Leader at the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project activities will improve the quality of the tourism offer and create stronger links between museums and other cultural institutions in the region.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro are rich in cultural heritage, but museums and historical sites often face challenges in adapting to modern tourism needs. The goal is to make museums and cultural and historical sites more accessible and innovative for visitors, and to connect them through a unique system that will enable easier exploration of the region and longer visitor stays, filled with quality tourist content.”, emphasized the Mayor of the Municipality of Jablanica, Emir Muratović.
The project is funded by the European Union under the Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro Cross-Border Cooperation Programme. The total value of the project is 495.000,00 EUR, out of which the EU provided 418.000,00 EUR in grants. The implementation of the project started on 1st of March 2025 and will last for 2 years. The project is implemented by the LINK Entrepreneurial Center (BiH), the National Museum of Montenegro (MNE), the Municipality of Jablanica (BiH) and the NGO Multimedial Montenegro (MNE).
